The Latino Studies program is pleased to announce that we are now accepting submissions for the 2022-23 Luis Davilá Student Competition for Best Essay on Latino/a/x Literature, Arts, and Culture. The award will be given for the best essay on any aspect of Latinx expressive culture, including literature, language, history, music, folklore, visual and performing arts, cinema, and journalism.
The Dávila Award winner will receive a $250 bursar credit.
Photo essays will also be considered.
Some important submission considerations:
- Submissions may be in English, Spanish, Portuguese, or any combination of these languages
- Undergraduate essays must be between 2,000 and 3,000 words in length
The submission deadline is April 7, 2023.
